A: Any sub-folder under the Metadata\Sx\ folder can be deleted except for the Indices folder. The Indices folder contains the key share used to determine whether the database is up-to-date. Q: Why am I receiving an “Error accessing the data catalog!” error message?

A: Same as above.

Q: I have installed my MetaStock database, but where is it located?

A: The database location is defaulted to the \Metadata\Sx\ folder, which will be located on the drive specified during the installation (most likely the C:\ drive). This folder contains a different folder for each of the databases the user subscribes to.

Q: I am receiving a ‘Security Locked’ error message when attempting to open a security.

A: Run a search for any files named ~MSFL.* on the drive on which the database is located (most likely the C:\ drive). Once the files have been located they should be deleted.

Q: I am receiving an ‘End of File’ error message when attempting to open a security.

A: Same as above.

Q: I am receiving an ‘Folder is not Open’ error message when attempting to open a security.

A: Same as above.

Q: I am receiving an ‘User File Damage’ error message when attempting to open a security.

Q: Why don't my security symbols match the Stock Exchange Code?

A: The database stores PrimeCharts’ own unique security name as the Symbol. The Stock Exchange Code is listed at the beginning of the security name.

E.g. Symbol = MICROSOFT Name = MSFT.O: MicroSoft Corporation

Q: I have updated my database via Auto Update, but my chart is still out-of-date.

A: Open Auto Update, and click Stop Countdown when the Download Multiple SX window appears. The column entitled Days shows how many days out-of-date each of your’ databases are.

If the database is more than ‘0’ days out-of date the update was not completed successfully. Close all open charts and re-run Auto Update.

If the database is shown as being ‘0’ days out-of-date, close Auto Update, close all open charts, and attempt to re-open the security in question. Check that the periodicity is set to Daily. If the chart is still out-of-date contact the nearest PrimeCharts agent.

Q: Can I use the MetaStock format database provided by PrimeCharts with Advanced GET or OmniTrader?Q: Is the MetaStock database provided by PrimeCharts compatible with my version of MetaStock?

A: The database is compatible with MetaStock version 7.03 and up.

Q: Can I source Open Interest figures from PrimeCharts?Q: Can I remove a folder from the database (i.e. I don’t follow the ‘Financials’ sector, and I want to delete it because I want to save disk space)?
